Part-Time Call Center Rep - Work at Home 
Hours are M-F 3pm-7pm (CST) and Saturday 11am-4pm (CST)
 
Equipment Provided
Using a computerized system, responds to customer inquiries in a call center environment.

May perform one or more of the following: Responds to telephone inquiries and complaints using standard scripts and procedures.

Gathers information, researches/resolves inquiries and logs customer calls.

You’ve seen and heard those ads on the internet, in the paper, and on the radio promising great work from home jobs, but you’ve wondered if they’re too good to be true.  Well – this one is good, it’s true, and we think you’ll really enjoy it!

Express Employment Professionals is teaming up with Amazon.com to hire 200, yes 200, new seasonal employees. In preparation for our busiest time of year, the winter holiday, Express will be recruiting for home based customer service associates. There are no sales and no schemes, and you can work from home in your pajamas (really, we don’t mind!) solving customer issues via phone, email, and chat.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently with the utmost of professionalism, integrity, and dependability. S/he will be confident and organized and will know when and how to reach out for assistance. Your mission – should you choose to accept it – is to solve problems, answer questions, and resolve concerns presented by our Amazon customers.

The Details:
  • Base pay is $11.00/hour.  Plus – think of the money you’ll save on gas, work clothes, and dining out when you work from home!
  • Seasonal employees are eligible to earn a bonus of $1/hour for every hour worked during the months of November, December, and January. Past seasonal employees have received checks in excess of $500 upon successful completion of their assignment.
  • Amazon will gladly provide an advance of $150 (gross) to new hires who may request financial assistance with start-up fees for phone and internet service. This will be paid out on your first paycheck with Amazon
  • The need for these positions is seasonal in nature, but expected to extend through January 2013.  Seasonal employees may remain with Amazon in a temporary capacity for up to six months, depending on business need. 
  • Both full and part time opportunities are available, but hours for all staff increase substantially during the holiday season (Thanksgiving through January 15).  A few weeks before and after December 25 is our busiest time.  
      • We’ll usually ask full timers to work overtime above 40 hours for a few weeks
      • We’ll usually ask part timers who typically work 20-29 hours per week to scale up to 30-40 hours during this time
      • Our Virtual Contact Center is open from 5AM – 10PM Pacific Standard Time.  Some level of schedule flexibility is required and expected, as available shifts include days, afternoons, and evenings, typically one or both weekend days, and occasional overtime. 
      • If you’re a student, we’ll do our best to work around your school schedule.
      • It is highly likely that as a new hire, you’d start off on a late afternoon or evening shift, and will work at least one weekend day.


Requirements:
  • There will be an online computer diagnostic to ensure your home computer meets our technical requirements for the job.  We respect your privacy, and are only checking for the following technical requirements (and we’re sorry, but we don’t support Macs or Linux for this role):
    • Windows 7

    • 3 MB/second or higher download speed Ethernet connection

The Seasonal, Part Time Home Based Customer Service Representative will respond to inbound telephone inquiries and email requests from Higher One accountholders. Customer service representatives serve as the first contact with card holders. In this role you will assist customers with questions and issues regarding their accounts.

**We are currently recruiting in CT, CO, FL, NC, TX, GA, MI, IL, IN and VA only.**   Paid training classes will start in Dec, 2012.

We are seeking experienced Customer Service Representatives for a Part-Time, Seasonal assignment. The hours that we have available are Monday through Friday, between 8am ET and 11pm ET, between 20-30 hours per week.

The Customer Service Reps must have a landline phone with an unlimited long distance plan. Higher One will reimburse $30.00 each month for unlimited long distance telephone service for all active home based customer service representatives.


If selected, the interview process for our home based Customer Care Agent is as follows:
  • 20 minute phone screen and Completion of a web navigation exercise
  • If selected to move forward, you will be sent a release form to complete in order for Higher One to run a credit history check as well as a criminal background check
  • After results of a  successful credit and criminal background check, we will contact you to make an offer of employment and discuss available shifts and schedules



Job Requirements
This person will work from home and must meet the following requirements at the time of application:

Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years experience in customer service and/or data entry experience required.
  • Good listening skills required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have a professional phone manner and ability to handle customer complaint calls.
  • Previous experience working in a bank and/or call center is helpful.
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking a plus.
  • BA/BS  preferred
Technical Requirements:
  • A reliable personal computer (must be a PC, not a Mac), a landline phone, and a headset.
  • Windows XP SP2 or higher, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 Home Premium or higher.
  • Windows must be up to date with all security patches applicable to service pack level.
  • Internet Explorer 7 or higher.
  • Broadband internet access (Cable, DSL, or Verizon FIOS only).
  • All agents will be required to install a VPN client provided by Higher One.
  • All agents will be required to install a computer configuration scanning client provided by Higher One.
  • Approved Antivirus Software (a list will be provided) with current virus definitions, current Antivirus subscription, and regularly scheduled scans.
  • Higher One recommends agents also run a current anti-spyware software
  • Must have the ability to connect to your home router or modem with a network cable.
  • Vonage and Magic Jack are not accepted forms of landline phones.
Other requirements:
  • A quiet work area without background noise and interruptions (ex. pet noises and personal interruptions).
  • Ability to be on the Internet and a landline phone call simultaneously.
  • Ability to pass a credit and background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
